Like all writers, there is always someone who paved the way, and inspired us to speak out about something we feel so passionate about. I would be lying if I said that Hugh Hefner did nothing for me. Not only was he a journalist, he also studied sociology focusing on sex research. Vaga praises this man in many more ways than one could imagine! Seeing and understanding his vision, is something I can greatly relate to. I can't offer enough gratitude for him and the voice he has created for someone like me. Because of his hard work, I have the opportunity to have my blog and express myself in the way I choose to do so.

Hefner brought attention to sex and nudity in a very classy way. He believed that the female anatomy was something beautiful, not just something that should be portrayed in a raunchy way. Even though nudity was his style, it was the admiration he wanted his readers to have, in the same way I want people to understand that women have their fun and there is nothing to be shameful about.

Hugh Hefner captured the beauty of a woman's naked body in such a high profile manner. He wasn't just a man who wanted an excuse to look at a naked woman. He used his knowledge to show young men that women and their bodies were meant to be respected and admired. The way women have more empowerment and confidence about their bodies today, is highly influenced by Hefner. What Playboy became, was a nudity magazine young boys had to hide from their parents, but it started a revolution.

When Playboy first came out, it was the first of its kind, and very taboo. Now my little blog, I know is not the first of its kind, but what I discuss is far more than how to bake a nifty cake from scratch (although that could make for an interesting post if Vaga gets involved...hmmm...) However, due to my subject matter, it is still looked at as controversial for a woman to be so obscenely open about her sex life.

To The Man, The Myth, The Legend

Thank You

Hugh Marston Hefner
